Featuring dark mode

You can now edit videos in your browser with two options. You can use the clean light mode or the sleek easy-to-view dark mode.

I attended an accessibility meetup a few months ago and learned about the different types of users of digital products. One thing I learned was that dark mode is not just a nice to have. For some users is a must have.

So I decided to get to work on this feature so that not only is it versatile, but it's also more accessible.

From what I have seen https://storycreatorapp.com is the only online video editing tool that offers both modes. So I am proud to be presenting this to you.

How to set the app in dark mode?

You will find a toggle in the "more options" section of the app. Just look for the three dots in the upper right hand side.

Once you toggle the app into dark mode it will stick in that mode for your future sessions.

Why did I add the dark mode?

Because I care about the user experience. As a user of the tool myself for my weekly newsletter https://podbytes.co. I wanted a delightful experience and sometimes the light mode would hurt my eyes.

I realize users would have different preferences. To be frank I simply think dark mode is sexy. One of my favorite tools that has a dark interface is https://spotify.com and I also like the interface of https://www.indiehackers.com/.

Also looking at the direction Apple has taken it seems like folks really like dark mode. So why not let the user decide. Your experience matters to me 😀.
