There's a new social network popping up nearly every month.

Unless you're living under a rock, you've probably heard of the name Clubhouse floating around.

It seems that this social network is one that is actually here to stay.

If you're a marketer or a business owner, you've probably already tried to leverage Clubhouse to bring in new customers.

While it can be successful on its own, repurposing your clubhouse chats can have significant benefits.

In this article, we'll talk about the benefits of repurposing your content and the best ways of repurposing your Clubhouse chats.

So what is Clubhouse?

The Clubhouse App is an invite online, audio-based iOS app. Think of it like an interactive podcast, or an audio-only group call. Users can follow each other and join various clubs based on interests. It's seen a huge surge in recent months and while it's not for everyone, it's definitely worth checking out. SocialMediaExaminer has done a great intro to Clubhouse and you should definitely check it out once you get invited.

Why You Should Repurpose Content

Having high-quality content, whether that's a video, a blog post, or something else, is great. However, each publication platform and type of media only has so much reach and impact.

By repurposing content, you can take your existing content and split it into smaller chunks which you can share across different mediums and social networks. This is also known as content spinning.

Which Content Pieces to Repurpose

While repurposing is great, it does take time. Therefore, unless you have a large team, it's going to be impossible to repurpose all of your content pieces.

So which content pieces should you repurpose?

The ones with the most value!

A lot of people will say it should be your evergreen content - content that will always remain relevant. However, we disagree. Of course, it should remain topical for a while but if it's a great piece of content there isn't any reason not to repurpose it.

For example, we'll definitely be repurposing this piece and building around it. While Clubhouse may seem successful now, we can't be sure what the future holds.

How to Record Clubhouse Chats

Before you can repurpose your Clubhouse chats, you will need to record them. This is surprisingly easy and you don't need any additional apps. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to Settings -> Control Centre
  2. Click the plus next to Screen Recording.
  3. Open your Control Centre (by swiping up or down depending on your iPhone/ Tablet)
  4. Click the Record button and it will give you a 3-second countdown.
  5. Open the Clubhouse App and you're recording it
  6. Clubhouse will give you a legal warning that you should get the club owners permission to record

Ways to Repurpose Your Clubhouse Chats

Now that you know which pieces to repurpose, and why you should do it, let's have a look at the different ways that you can repurpose Clubhouse chats

Convert to Video

The quickest and most straightforward way to repurpose Clubhouse chats is by converting them to videos. The simplest way is to just take the recording and upload it as is. However, there's no real additional value there.

However, with a tool like Motionbox, you can elevate your videos to the next level.

Adds graphics, supporting content, trim it as needs be, and so on. With StoryCreator you can quickly and easily edit your videos to tell your story.

Turn into a Written Piece of Content

When you have a piece of audio you can easily convert it into a written piece of content. There are plenty of transcription services online to save you time on doing these. Depending on the quality, and how much editing you wish to do after, these are relatively cheap.

Once you have that written piece of content you can optimize it further, create a targetted title, meta description, etc. By creating a written content you'll have the benefit of better targeting organic traffic from Google.

Converting to written content also means that you'll get a better chance of ranking in Google, and other search engines.

Utilize Quotes in Content

During Clubhouse chats, you'll come across fantastic one-liners. You can use these one-lines to create quotes which then you can insert into existing content. Quotes can help increase the amount of time spent by the user on your site and also allow them to digest the data quicker and faster.

Quote: Quotes are easily consumable and therefore more likely consumed!

Post Quotes Socially

For example, you can put it in a video or image and share it on your social networks. Alternatively, you can add them to blog posts to give them extra value and perspective.

Share Powerful Soundbites

As with quotes, you'll often get nuggets of beautiful information. You can then share these across different social networks.

Convert into a Podcast

You can strip the video part of the recording so that you're left with just the audio recording. Depending on the content you could upload this straight away as a podcast or edit it to suit your needs.
