FLV format is designed for Flash Video. Flash Video is a container file format used over the internet for Adobe Flash Player version 6 and newer. There are two Flash Video formats, one is FLV and the other is F4V. Adobe flash support both FLV/F4V and was developed by Adobe Systems. FLV was originally developed by Macromedia. In the early 2000s FLV was the standard video format for streaming over the internet. FLV based videos are typically encoded with Sorenson Spark or VP6 video compression formats. Apple iOS devices do not support the Flash Player plugin -- thanks Steve Jobs. So FLV is probably not the ideal format for using on social media sites that are primarily mobile optimizied.
Copy the URL of the YouTube video and paste it into the converter above. We validate the link and start pulling the video automatically.
